Conflict-free Diamonds and Conflict Gold Policy
We care that the diamonds we supply our customers come from only highly respected and reputable diamond suppliers who participate in the System of Warrantees and follow the guidelines of the Kimberley Process. All diamonds provided to our customers are obtained through legitimate sources and we hold our suppliers to a high standard of compliance. We adhere to a strict, zero-tolerance policy about the issue of conflict diamonds and do not in any manner want to contribute to the human rights atrocities caused by diamonds supplied by rebel armies that are opposed to internationally recognized and humane governments.
The global diamond industry has and continues to make sure that all the diamonds supplied from the more prominent conflict areas of Central and West Africa are mined and purchased through legitimate sources. The World Diamond Council was formed in 2000 to help stop the trade of conflict diamonds.
The Kimberley Process is the agreements that came out of these meetings of governments and non-governmental organizations in 2003 and is a system in place to insure every rough diamond is certified conflict free by use of strict anti-forgery documentation and serial numbered diamonds.
We hold these same standards in terms of conflict gold.
Holding to our long held respect and recognition of the importance of maintaining the environment and the recognizing the socio-economic impact of the gold mining industry, we have made a commitment to use metal suppliers that share this commitment.
